Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is receiving warm birthday wishes from across Kenya as he turns 64 today, with leaders, friends, and former colleagues celebrating his legacy of unity, peace, and development.

Among those who sent their messages were former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua, and Nairobi politician Jayendra Malde.

Each recalled moments that defined the former President’s public and personal life.

“Former President Uhuru Kenyatta turns 64 today! Happy birthday Boss!” wrote Dr Matiang’i, who served under Uhuru’s Cabinet throughout his two terms in office.

Dr Ezekiel Mutua shared a nostalgic reflection on his time as one of Uhuru’s communication advisers during his first presidential bid in 2002.

“The year 2002: With my client Uhuru Kenyatta at Chancery House, Nairobi. We didn't make it in that first attempt, but I told my candidate he would one day become President. Eleven years later, it came to pass. The rest, as they say, is history! Happy birthday former President Uhuru Kenyatta,” wrote Mutua.

Jayendra Malde praised Uhuru’s generosity and empathy, saying:

“Happy birthday, Your Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. H.E. Uhuru will always stand by Mama Ida. Thank you for helping me build a hospital in Parklands.”

The Office of the 4th President also issued a warm message to mark the day, describing Uhuru as a visionary and compassionate leader:

“The Office of the Fourth President extends heartfelt birthday wishes to His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. Your journey of service, marked by vision, resilience, and compassion, continues to inspire our nation and beyond. May this new chapter bring you peace, joy, and renewed strength to keep championing the values you hold dear--unity, integrity, and love for country.”

Messages from Jubilee Party members and Kenyans online celebrated Uhuru’s continued role in peacebuilding, both at home and across Africa, where he serves as a regional mediator and advocate for stability.

Uhuru Kenyatta, who served as Kenya’s fourth President from 2013 to 2022, remains one of the country’s most influential post-independence leaders, remembered for his focus on infrastructure, devolution, and national unity.
