Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) Chairman Al Hajj Hassan Ole Naado has defended the 2025 (this year’s) Hajj Mission.

He said close to 5,000 Kenyans registered despite propaganda from a network of Hajj agents.

“By His Grace, Muslims turned out in large numbers and paid the required fees,” Mr Naado said.

Mr Naado said SUPKEM blacklisted agents who have dominated Hajj operations for more than 30 years.

“I knew they would fight back, but reforms were necessary for the pilgrims,” he stated.

He dismissed social media attacks, saying Muslim leaders have always faced resistance when introducing reforms.

“The trust in the Hajj Mission and SUPKEM leadership is at an all-time high,” he added.

Mr Naado also said SUPKEM will reclaim property grabbed in Nairobi.

“Reclaiming SUPKEM’s property is a responsibility I am prepared to uphold,” he told Avdelta News.

He accused critics of pursuing personal interests instead of focusing on the welfare of pilgrims.

“SUPKEM is a membership organisation, and only members have a voice,” he emphasized.

He urged critics to join SUPKEM before commenting on its leadership.
