County enhances health care at Kapteldon sub-county hospital

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has operationalised dental and ultrasound services at Kapteldon Sub-County Hospital.
Speaking during the stakeholder engagement, County Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr Joyce Sang expressed her enthusiasm about the hospital's latest enhancements which said is a fulfilment of the commitment of Governor Jonathan Bii to improving health care services.
"The operationalisation of these critical services marks a turning point in our community's access to healthcare and as a Department we have initiated plans to equip the facility with a full hemogram machine that will enable efficient blood testing to aid in timely diagnoses
"The completion of the X-ray block is also an added diagnostic capability for the facility," said Dr Sang.
In a concerted effort to ensure that essential medications are available, Dr Sang announced that the county government has sufficiently stocked its pharmacy and to better support residents, a revolving fund pharmacy system has also been established.
“This initiative is designed to mitigate the impact of drug shortages, ensuring that patients can access necessary treatments even when supplies are low,” said Dr Sang.
Dr Sang further stressed the importance of disease prevention through early detection, urging stakeholders to promote regular screening initiatives within the community noting that early treatment can save lives therefore the need to raise awareness and encourage proactive health measures among the population.
As the county positions itself to deliver enhanced healthcare services, the residents of Uasin Gishu can look forward to improved access to quality medical care at the Kapteldon sub-County Hospital, paving the way for a healthier community.
