The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) has merged with the KIKAO Youth Movement in a bold move to enhance youth participation in politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi, DNA Party Leader Godfrey Kanoti said the partnership would establish the DNA Youth Movement as a platform for political education, mentorship, and leadership development.
“Today is a revolutionary moment. Kenya’s youths are no longer knocking on doors--you are opening your own,” Mr Kanoti declared.
KIKAO Chairperson Bright Shitemi described the merger as “an audacious but timely” step to inject a wave of new-generation leaders into national politics.
“This is the party for the youths, for all Kenyans who hope for a better future. Together, we will change the DNA of our leadership and our country,” Mr Shitemi said.
The party also unveiled key leadership appointments drawn from the youth movement, including Chepkoech Towett as Deputy Party Leader and Shitemi as Deputy National Chairperson.
Mr Kanoti added that KIKAO’s grassroots presence in 40 counties would “supercharge” DNA’s mobilisation efforts, urging young Kenyans to take up leadership roles rather than wait for opportunities to be handed to them.
