Kenya Police FC have officially captured their first-ever FKF Premier League title!
The boys in blue--cops--got the job done in Machakos on Sunday afternoon, edging out Shabana FC 1–0 at Kenyatta Stadium.
The winning moment came in the 75th minute, when Brian Okoth leapt into the air and thumped home a textbook header from a corner kick--a goal that sealed the match and the league.
Fans erupted. Coaches fist-pumped. Even security personnel cracked rare smiles.
From being tagged "just another departmental team" to now standing tall as league champions, Kenya Police FC have pulled off a well-planned, on-field "operation."
“This is not just a win, it’s justice served!” one ecstatic supporter said, proudly waving a blue scarf like a warrant.
Under head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, the team has gone from mid-table mediocrity to title-winning machines. The squad has blended veteran grit from stars like Elvis Rupia and Francis Kahata with the youthful spark of players like David Okoth.
With 64 points and a game to spare, they are out of reach. But the season isn’t quite over just yet...
Police FC will receive their well-deserved trophy next weekend when they take on immediate former champions Gor Mahia in their final match of the season. Talk about a symbolic handover--and potentially, a spicy one!
The team will also represent Kenya in the CAF Champions League next season, marking their first-ever appearance on the continental stage.
For now, though, the job is done. The title has been arrested, cuffed, and will be officially booked in the name of Kenya Police FC next weekend.
Let the blue sirens wail, but this time, in celebration.
