"As we welcome teams and fans from across Kenya and around the world, we are proud to showcase our county's warmth, hospitality, and unique attractions," Governor Ndeti said at a press briefing in Machakos.
The tournament runs from October 11 to October 13, 2024, and will attract leading clubs from within Kenya, and outside the country.
This will be the first time ever for the tournament to be hosted outside Nairobi.

We are ready to welcome people from all places, near and far, and we look forward to creating an electrifying atmosphere,” said Ms Ndeti.
The governor also urged rugby fans to come out in large numbers, cheer passionately, and inject energy into the tournament.
“We encourage fans to cheer loudly and bring life to the matches. Let’s make this a festival of rugby, unity, and celebration,” she added.
The governor assured the public that Machakos County is fully prepared to host the event, with robust security measures and top-class hospitality services in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all visitors.
The Safari Sevens, one of Africa’s top rugby tournaments, is expected to attract both local and international teams, further boosting sports tourism in Machakos County.
Fans have been encouraged to secure their tickets early and participate in what promises to be an exciting and vibrant weekend of rugby action.
