Nova Pioneer has announced a strategic partnership with Strathmore University Business School aimed at championing the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) education across Africa.

This groundbreaking collaboration seeks to develop and implement a comprehensive AI curriculum for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with a particular emphasis on learners in grades 7-12.

The initiative is set to be integrated into Nova Pioneer’s existing Innovation and Leadership Program, with the pilot phase scheduled to launch in 2025 for all Grade 8 students at Nova Pioneer.

The program's goal is to equip African youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world.

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Chinezi Chijioke, Co-founder and CEO of Nova Pioneer, highlighted the significance of this partnership. "This move is essential in ensuring that the next generation of African youth is well-prepared to navigate and excel in a future dominated by AI and technological innovation," Chijioke stated.

Nova Pioneer’s Senior Director of Schools Dr London Moore further elaborated on the initiative's long-term vision.

“Under this partnership, over the course of the next five years, we are looking forward to creating AI Impact Camps and an African Innovation Fund,” Dr Moore said.

The initiatives are geared towards empowering students across Africa to take their ideas and meaningfully bring them to life.

Nova Pioneer’s Innovation and Leadership Programme, which currently serves students from Grade 7 to Form 4, focuses on character development and equips students with the tools to solve real-world problems through innovation, social entrepreneurship, and leadership.

The new AI curriculum will build upon this foundation, fostering a generation of leaders who are not only tech-savvy but also capable of driving significant change in their communities and beyond.

The partnership with Strathmore University Business School will enable the delivery of this K-12 AI curriculum across several African countries, including Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, and Nigeria.

This initiative represents a major step forward in preparing the next generation of African leaders to harness the potential of AI and drive future innovation and economic growth on the continent.

As Nova Pioneer and Strathmore University embark on this ambitious journey, the collaboration is set to position Africa as a leader in AI education, paving the way for a new era of technological advancement and leadership in the region.
