UDA trashes Malala's claims on Gachagua ouster plot

President William Ruto's party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has responded to former Secretary General Cleophas Malala's recent comments following his removal from office.
The new Secretary General Hassan Omar on Friday clarified that Mr Malala's removal was legal and was later ratified by the Registrar of Political Parties.
“Mr Malala was legally and procedurally removed from office,” said Mr Omar.
The statement criticized Mr Malala’s leadership, describing it as marked by “melodrama, toxicity, missteps, discord, and ruin.”
On Thursday Mr Malala who vied for Kakamega gubernatorial seat in 2022, claimed that UDA Chair Cecily Mbarire (Governor of Embu County), and Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung'wah (Kikuyu MP) were the masterminds of his ouster from office.
“They hounded me out of office because of my close working relationship with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua,” Mr Malala claimed.
But UDA wants the Malala rave and melodrama to stop.
The party maintained that his claims are reckless and wild for there is no such a thing as the impeachment of Mr Gachagua.
“We find it gross that he is now casting aspersions on the Party's leadership,” Mr Omar added in the statement.
The party has warned the former Kakamega Senator against involving the Party in what it termed as "political shenanigans" and insisted that the Party would continue its mission without distraction.
