The association also urged embattled Gachagua to support the son from Mt Kenya rather than create discontentment in the region.

The members of Ameru Professionals Association have appealed to Kenyans to fully support Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to be the next Deputy President, terming him as incorruptible, professional, and wise.

The group's vice chairman Muriungi Ndumbo Ntamwarario said Prof Kindiki is a unifying factor for this country, the reason MPs unanimously endorsed him when President William Ruto nominated him to take over from impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

"He has attained such status due to his professionalism. When you hear in the whole country, all the MPs rally behind his candidature. This shows everyone has enough confidence in his leadership, his professionalism in all the offices he worked in, from being a Secretary in a law firm, till now he is a CS. We should all emulate his work ethics, professionalism, and wise decisions," Mr Muriungi said.

He urged Kenyans to pray for Prof Kindiki to be confirmed, noting that he is 100 percent sure he will be an exemplary performer as Deputy President.

The Association is composed of all professionals from the whole Ameru region from Thuchi to Ntonyiri.

The association also urged embattled Gachagua to support the son from Mt Kenya rather than create discontentment in the region. However, Mr Gachagua is fighting in courts to have the impeachment quashed.

"When the country attained independence, leaders, and residents gathered together and elected their representatives who were professionals. This however didn't show that they hated Mau Mau fighters. You could be a very good fighter, but professionals must be required to steer the nation ahead. So, there should be no complaints. This is the reason we are encouraging our children to be more thirsty in furthering their education," Mr Muriungi said.

He urged Kenyan youths to be disciplined and pay attention to their teachers and lecturers and never exercise corruption to make Kenya a great country for all.

"I want to announce to you today without a iota of doubt, the Deputy President elect Kithure Kindiki was a treasurer for this Association. Once appointed or you are at a position to service the public, stop personal interests," he said.
