Inside Gachagua's plan to jump treason trap

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has laid bare his elaborate plans to shed off the treasonous tag being founded around him regarding the Gen Z-led protests which started as peaceful, but later infiltrated by goons.
After Laikipia East MP and Mathira MP--Mwangi Kiunjuri and Eric Wamumbi respectively--recently linked him with plots to destabilise William Ruto's presidency, he has now sanctioned a fightback plan to redeem himself.
"It is true that we are now in a structured mode to fight back that evil accusation that is being pinned on the person and office of the Deputy President. We as his supporters, especially I as the father of his home county, will no longer accept that nonsense," said Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
Mr Kahiga said they are now aware that this whole claim is framed to make the DP smell bad and offer him to the altar of impeachment or character assassination to check on his ever rising star among Mt Kenya people.
Interestingly, Mr Gachagua's recent political foe, Mr Moses Kuria who was recently dropped as Public Service CS has now jumped into his defence.
"I am now in Mr Gachagua's defense and I will not allow those schemes being advanced against him to hold. I will be there for him and I will fight the impeachment scheme that is being contemplated against him. It will only happen over my dead body," Mr Kuria told AVDelta News.
Mr Kuria said "it has reached a point where we will not continue to fight each other in the mountain since we have seen signs where a bigger scheme is being laid down against us".
According to Mr Kahiga, Deputy President and his staunch allies will now be heard prominently demanding that Mr Kiunjuri be made to record statement against his damning allegations about the violence that infiltrated the Gen Z-led protests.
"We now want Mr Gachagua to squarely face his accusers. They are Mr Kiunjuri and intelligence reports from the spy agency. We now want all those secretly accusing the DP to come out we face each other publicly, one on one," Governor Kahiga said.
Former Gatanga MP Mr Nduati Ngugi on Thursday last week told AVDelta News that "we on Wednesday night had a meeting bringing together some friends of Mr Gachagua and those of former President Mr Uhuru Kenyatta and in total we were 18".
He said the agenda at a City hotel was to review the reckless and unacceptable claims being peddled to the effect that the former president and his kin in conjunction with the Deputy President ate part of a treasonous plot against President Ruto.
"After critically analysing those reckless statements we came up with two positions. We want to meet the accusers' evidence one on one and we will not allow any of our Mt Kenya leader to be disparaged by use of unsubstantiated rumours," Mr Ngugi said.
He said that “we only managed to identify political utterances and rumoured spy agency reports as the evidence being wheeled around”.
"We now demand that we come face to face with the real evidence if any," he added.
Mr Ngugi said both camps also resolved to accelerate search for alternative power contest formation for 2027, building of alliances with credible community leaders across the country being a matter of urgency.
This is the same script that Mr Gachagua was reading from on a Sunday when he held a live interview with Mt Kenya vernacular media stations, leading to insights on how he intends to fight back.
In the interview, Mr Gachagua said his course of action will be seven pronged.
He highlighted that he will demand the spy master to issue a public statement on the Gen Zs' violent protests.
"I will no longer accept the National Intelligence Service rumours that do not even appear to know where to apportion blame. They are groping in the dark by blaming Russia, Ford Foundation and Mt Kenya region tycoons. They must now tell us who is who," he said.
He also demanded that Mr Kiunjuri be made to record a statement regarding his July 25, 2024, claims that Mt Kenya leaders known to him, financed about 25,000 hooligans to cause chaos in Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD).
"Mr Kiunjuri must tell us how he counted the said hooligans, how he determined their tribes, how they were transported and by what means and the number plates and what evidence he has about their financiers," Mr Gachagua said.
Mr Gachagua also hinted that he will make it clear that impeaching him must also be made crystal clear that it will also affect the office of the president because "my problem is also his joint ticket problem".
Interestingly, this is the same message that Wiper Party boss Mr Kalonzo Musyoka and Jubilee Party Secretary General Mr Jeremiah Kioni have been advancing, insisting that an impeachment move must affect both the president and his deputy.
Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara on Monday (August 12, 2024) maintained that “we are now going to demand that all this pressure being piled against the DP be escalated to statements of public truth or be abandoned”.
She said the government needs to concentrate on delivering service to the people.
"It is unfortunate that we are back to the circus that was the former regime that sustained rumours and gossip against the office of the Deputy President. But this time we have become reckless if we can send police officers to raid that office. The president must stop that," she said.
Embakasi North MP James Gakuya said he is being told to abandon Mr Gachagua loyalty so that investigations against him can be stopped.
"They want to make it appear criminal for one to be seen around the Deputy President. They have only fallen short of declaring Mr Gachagua as armed and dangerous. The stupid politics being played around are direct contempt against the people of Mt Kenya," Mr Gakuya said.
Mr Gakuya said he is being investigated on grounds that he supported some of the Gen Zs with water and some bites.
"We have politicians and clergy who have since declared that their children were part of the protests. Those youths are voters and we are politicians. What is the crime in supporting part of our voting population with water and bites?" he posed.
Mr Gachagua had in his interview responses demanded that "some of these security organs heads be tamed since they have become drunk with power and trusting them without caution will most likely burn the country".
Former Kiambu governor Mr Ferdinand Waititu on Thursday last week told AVDelta News that "soon we are going to start Nairobi and Mt Kenya region caravans to sensitise our people about the political deceit being progressed".
"The plan is to make Gachagua look bad, be disposed and when the shepherd will be felled, the sheep will disperse so that imposed sycophants can then be brought in to capture us for control ahead of 2027," Mr Waititu said.
The former Governor warned that "this is the same Mt Kenya that has survived more intelligent schemers in the past and will read the lie being peddled against Mr Gachagua, stand with him and come 2027, teach the enemies a lesson of their lifetime".
