Party of National Unity (PNU) leader Peter Munya has hit out at the government over its implementation of controversial new higher education funding model, new health insurance, Adani deals, and delays in production of identity cards among others.

Mr Munya said majority of MPs are now stooges of stamping authority by passing oppressive Bills like the Finance Bill, 2024, passing the impeachment motion of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua among others without questioning.

“It is sad that they hoodwinked the people using the Bible and a smooth tongue. They made many promises but now, Kenyans are suffering. We must kick them out in 2027 because Kenyans cannot afford health care and university education,” Mr Munya said.

The PNU leader accused MPs of putting selfish interests on top of public interest leading to the suffering of the masses.

Mr Munya who is putting spirited efforts to dethrone embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza in 2027, said Kenyans should learn a lesson to consider integrity when electing leaders.

He maintained that he will not be swayed from abandoning his race for governorship.

He lashed out at legislators for proposing an amendment to the Constitution to extend the term of elected leaders from the current five(5) years to seven(7) years.

“Majority of them know that their fate is sealed in 2027 and this is why they want to add two(2) more years through an amendment to the Constitution. We cannot allow the Constitution to be amended without a referendum,” he said.

Mr Munya vowed to lead an onslaught against MPs for “supporting bad laws and policies under the President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza administration.”

Speaking when he opened a party branch office at Maua town, Mr Munya said the government is oppressing the common mwananchi despite promising to alleviate the suffering of the lowly.

Mr Munya rallied residents to support his party saying this is part of the region’s agenda to have their own political vehicle during elections.

“Mr Gachagua is suffering now because he joined United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which is not his party. If you sleep in someone’s house, they can kick you out in the middle of the night. There will be no notice since you are a mere guest,” Mr Munya said.
