United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party officials Tuesday defended the move by the party to forcefully repossess official cars initially availed for use by the ousted party Secretary General Cleophas Malala.

In a statement Tuesday, Kitutu Chache North MP Japhet Nyakundi, also party National Treasurer, further dismissed of talk of planned abduction plot against Mr Malala.

"As a party, we are very sorry for the inconvenience, but nobody is after your family. The UDA party was just taking back its cars which we had requested you to return and you refused," Mr Nyakundi said in a statement posted on his social media accounts.

The Kitutu Chache MP described Mr Malala as “good at drama and using it to milk public sympathy”.

“He is just a good drama teacher and the best in the country I can say… very talented,” Mr Nyakundi stated.

The legislator said nobody had any interest in abducting the besieged former party honcho.

Mr Malala is fighting for equally embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

"Everyone knew about your whereabouts because you were on some national television  for an interview. There was no abduction…stop the drama," Mr Nyakundi slammed the former Kakamega Senator.

Malala's troubles begun after the party's National Executive Committee revoked his appointment on August 2, 2024, and appointed Vice Chairperson Hassan Omar to act on interim basis.
