There is a public outcry after the bodies of two adult women--mother and daughter-- and a girl were found dumped in separate locations in Nairobi and Machakos.
Bodies of Dahabo Daud Said,38; Amina Abdirashid Dahir,22, and girl Nusayba Abdi Mohammed were discovered on October 22, 2024, at different locations.
The three(3) victims of macabre killings were buried on Saturday at the Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi.
The three(3) had gone missing on Monday night, and their bodies were found with multiple stab wounds. Police indicated that two(2) severed hands were also recovered in South C, Nairobi, a day later.
A postmortem exercise conducted on the bodies of the two adult women and a girl on October 25, 2024, showed Dahabo Daud Said had her neck severed, her hands chopped off and was tortured.
Chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor said Amina Abdirashid Dahir died of a stabbing.
“The stab wound went to the heart. We believe she died out of stabbing,” said Dr Oduor.
He added Nusayba Abdi Mohammed died out of smothering and that there were indications of rape on her.
Police said preliminary investigations show the three(3) were killed in a dispute over a ransom demand by their abductors.
Investigations have also revealed the three murdered women were attacked by people known to them for failing to pay the demanded ransom and identifying them while in captivity.
A suspect and a survivor of the murder have told police the killers had demanded ransom from the women, but became brutal when they realised the victims had identified them.
“When they realised the women had identified them, they decided to eliminate them and dump their bodies,” said an officer who added they are pursuing known suspects.
They had demanded Sh1 million for the release of each of the two women and the girl.
The homicide detectives have since identified the prime suspect in connection with the brutal murders of these three(3) family members in Eastleigh.
On Sunday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a statement said the suspect is a 24-year-old Hashim Dagane Muhumed.
It asked the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect.
