Kiosk owners near Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Branch in Tala town in Matungulu sub-County have been given a notice to demolish their structures within seven(7) days following a complaint by the bank.

The notice was issued by the County Government of Machakos after KCB complained that the Kiosks were a security threat to the bank.

Addressing residents at Tala town on Tuesday, area MCA Jackson Ndaka asked those who have received the notices to comply to avoid damage to their properties and penalties when the County Government moves in to effect the notice.

He said some unscrupulous people were charging Kiosk owners in order to be allocated space adding that the owners should demand a refund of their money from the said people.

Mr Ndaka said the County government was planning to build a boda boda shed at the premises to enable motorbike operators to attend to their customers in a conducive environment.

Mr Ndaka warned residents against transacting with unelected people purporting to allocate them space belonging to the County Government.

"The two(2) containers outside KCB are a security threat and should be removed immediately," said Mr Ndaka.

He said the County Government of Machakos was committed to safeguarding the welfare of investors like KCB who are important in growing the local economy.
