Governor Kang'ata revealed that Starlink has since been recruited by Murang'a County to automate most services.
Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata has defended Starlink internet provider saying it offers his county realistic, fast, and reliable connectivity to e-world.
He said proposals being floated that Elon Musk's Starlink be banned in Kenya, would do great disservice to Murang'a farmers connected to the e-world through Starlink.
"The move by some competitors to write to the Communications Authority (CA) seeking Starlink to be banned in Kenya is ill informed," Governor Kang'ata said.
Mr Kang'ata revealed that the new provider has since been recruited by the county to automate most services that include producer groups, health and revenue departments.
"Some of the Starlink competition has no ground presence in some parts of Murang'a. We need excellent and stable network provider to drive our automation agenda. The impact of slow internet is anti-trade," he said.
