The state-of-the-art equipment will enable doctors to perform minimally invasive procedures, reducing referrals and improving patient outcomes.
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has launched a modern laparoscopy tower at Machakos County Referral Hospital, marking a significant milestone in the county's health care sector.
The state-of-the-art equipment, donated on Tuesday by Lariox Healthcare Limited in partnership with the Operating Theatre Practitioners Association of Kenya, will enable doctors to perform minimally invasive procedures, reducing referrals and improving patient outcomes.
"The installation of this modern laparoscopy tower is a major step in modernizing surgical services in our county," Governor Ndeti said.
"Our administration is committed to strengthening healthcare services, ensuring that the people of Machakos access quality, specialized treatment closer to home."
The Governor noted that while the donation provided the machine, her administration invested in the necessary instruments to ensure the services are fully operational.
The new equipment will allow for safer, more efficient procedures, enabling patients to recover faster. This development is expected to ease pressure on higher-level facilities and improve healthcare services across Machakos.
"We will continue investing in health infrastructure, equipping our hospitals, and enhancing healthcare services across Machakos," Governor Ndeti pledged.
Prof. Pankaj Jani who handed over the equipment said it will allow patients to recover quickly and reduce infections due to minimal invasion.
He called for proper keeping of records of patients using the equipment which will inform donor decisions for future assistance.
