Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has castigated the Senate for impeaching former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, arguing that he was unheard and that the entire process was unconstitutional.

"Law of natural justice demands that no person shall be condemned unheard. What happened last night in the Senate, as historic as it was, it has serious legal flaws," Mr Musyoka said.

Mr Musyoka who served as Vice President under Kenya's Third President--the late Mwai Kibaki--was addressing the media on Friday at Karen Hospital in Nairobi after visiting Mr Gachagua who is ailing.

The former Vice President exuded confidence that Mr Gachagua will emerge victorious in courts.

"I mean, why was the Senate hurrying to crucify him politically?" he posed.

Mr Kalonzo was accompanied by DAP-K Party Leader Eugene Wamalwa, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and a section of Senators from his party - Wiper.
