Former Mungiki sect leader Mr Maina Njenga has chided Mt Kenya to cease whining about President William Ruto rule, saying "he is your baby that you gave birth to and you got no choice, but suckle it".
Featuring on Hot 96 FM morning show on Monday, Mr Njenga countered that President Ruto remains the favourite to win the 2027 Presidential race, to the chagrin of the Mountaineers.
"I'm not sure whether President Ruto will lose in his reelection bid. It is dependent on how he will scheme in the remaining two and a half years. But if he took power under the 2022 General Elections environment, only a fool can underrate his mind. Huyu mtu ako na akili ya kutosha kujipanga (he is more win brained)," he said.
He said Mt Kenya got no justification whatsoever to keep on issuing ultimatums and heckling President Ruto since "you by your own volution gave this country his government".
Mr Njenga who has since declared support for President Ruto said "we tried to warn you to vote an alternative out of the the other contenders but you dismissed us saying Dr Ruto was your man".
He said while President Uhuru Kenyatta was busy trying to prevent the Mountain from the Dr Ruto presidential bid, you defied and went ahead to endorse him with an overwhelming 87 percent of your votes".
To that end, Mr Njenga said Mt Kenya out of that endorsement has a 47 percent stake in the Dr Ruto government".
He added: “Mt Kenya got no valid point to complain about President Ruto government. Mt Kenya gave us this president. They told us President Ruto was a product of prayers. Let us continue praying together with our President.”
Mr Njenga scorned ousted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's declaration that he will by close of this month form a Mt Kenya political party and give the 2027 political direction.
"Saying you are forming a mountain party is not news. Parties have been formed in Mt Kenya since times of independence. Yours is not a big deal. Mr Gachagua you cannot be keeping us captive of Murima unity as if we are not also in other counties. Rise up and be a national mindset leader," he battered.
He said he has gone to President Ruto's aide to help him counter what he termed as Gachagua's divisive rhetoric.
"I will hold 47 public rallies one(1) per each county to preach one people one flag gospel. Forget about those Gachagua talks that he will take me to the International Criminals Court (ICC)," he said.
Mr Njenga told Mr Gachagua that “I am not an ICC candidate. Yours is idle talk. ICC for what?”
He accused Mr Gachagua of "being all talk even when apparent that we all know that as an impeached leader he is toothless. He cannot bite. How will he take me to ICC?".
Mr Gachagua has publicly accused Mr Njenga of being part of a broader scheme to cause chaos and mayhem in Mt Kenya zones.
"This is a man and a history too well familiar with us. His exploits in bloodshed, extortion, progressing the cruelty of circumsising our women as well as imposing illegal taxes on us is self explanatory of our fears against him," Mr Gachagua recently said in Nyeri County.
Mr Gachagua accused Mr Njenga of being used by the government to force Mt Kenya residents to support "a dysnfunctional government and traitors whose loyalty is to the president and not to the people".
Mr Gachagua added that "we do not want to be reminded of the ruthless efficiency Mr Njenga and his gang went about spreading fear in Mt Kenya to a point the government had to dedicate four years of operations to neuter his activities".
Mr Njenga defended President Ruto's government for perception of being anti youth in cabinet employment.
"President Ruto's cabinet does not have youthful Secretaries because not many of them in this country have sufficient skills to serve," he said.
He added that "You cannot just go into a university, fish out a youthful CS and give him/her a job. They have to first seek maturity and that is as it is".
He said "This government is President Ruto's and he has the freedom to constitute as he deems fit. When we become presidents, we will form those government that we have in our minds".
He hit out at the youths saying "You cannot become a leader through graphically putting people in caskets...You must follow the long and hard route of becoming a leader".
He said he was not contemptuous of the youth "since they form the bulk of my support base".
He said he does not have a gang support base, but was a long time mentor to youths who have passed through his hands.
"I don't own any jeshi. Through being close to former Presidents Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki, Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto governments, I only united and continue to do so, youths. Like today, my boys are organised in Matatu Saccos and route management networks and we are monied yes," he said.
He said he identifies with the nightmare of abductions in the country.
"I have been a victim of state sponsored abductions both in the past and current governments... Just the other day I was abducted for seven(7) days," he said.
He revealed current abduction holding chambers to "situated most likely in the City Centre 5th floor of a building where one is bundled in pitch darkness rooms".
Once inside the abduction chambers, he said "you see no one engaging you in the numerous interrogations and threats... the abductors apart from feeding victims irregularly, are humane and never squeezed any delicate part of the anatomy".
To avoid getting abducted, a fate that he said can befall anyone, Mr Njenga said "our children must behave. You cannot put the age mates of your parents in coffins when they are alive and expect to be treated softly. You must shape up".
