Former Bonchari MP Zebedeo Opore, 78, has died.
He gave up the fight as doctors at the Nairobi Hospital attended to him Friday dawn.
He had served as an Assistant Minister for Information and Broadcasting during the late President Daniel arap Moi era.
He has lately been in and out of hospital for the last one(1) year.
“’My dad passed on today at 5am," Mr Robin Opore, his son, told AVDelta News on Friday.
Opore was first elected as Bonchari MP in 1997.
He later lost the seat to Mr Charles Onyancha.
In 2013, Opore won the seat again and was subsequently sworn in as Bonchari MP.
But his victory was short-lived because he lost the seat six(6) months later to his political nemesis, the late John Oroo Oyioka.
This is after Oroo successfully won a petition which he had filed at the Kisii High Court.
Various leaders from Kisii mourned Opore saying the region has lost a great leader.
