Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sacked his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

He hastily replaced him with Israel Katz, the country's foreign minister.

The country is currently entangled in a multi-pronged war in Gaza and Lebanon. With sporadic air raids into Iran.

In Gaza, at least 40,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in the spate of vicious bombardment by the Israel Defencse Forces (IDF).

In Lebanon, at least 3,000 people were recorded killed due to the ongoing bombardment by Israeli soldiers.

On Tuesday alone, Gaza lost 33 of its residents when Israel attacked the northern part of Gaza.

A hospital was also destroyed in the bombardment.

Speaking at home Tuesday, Netanyahu cited ‘low trust’ in Gallant as reason for his dismissal.

The sacking sparked momentary protests from a section of the families that had not received back family members abducted during a Hamas raid into Israel a year ago.

The Prime Minister had recently grown uneasy of Gallant especially in the way he has handled the incursions into Gaza.

"Over the last few months that trust has eroded. Today I decided to end the term of the Defense Ministry," Netanyahu said in an statement.
