Power outage hits parts of Vihiga for maintenance until 5pm

Kenya Power alerts residents of Western Kenya, and particularly Vihiga, to planned maintenance causing outage from 9am to 5pm.

Kenya Power has on Monday begun a scheduled electricity interruption in parts of Vihiga County to carry out planned maintenance works.

The disruption, which commenced at 9am today, is expected to last until 5pm.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly during this period.

The maintenance affects Mudete Tea Factory, Kiritu, Mudete Market, Inyali, D Igula, Mambai, Munoywa, Vuyiya, Vohobole, Bendera, Evojo, Kisatiru, and adjacent areas.

Kenya Power, through the social media platform X stated that the works are essential to ensure reliable supply and improve service quality in the region.

The company apologised for any inconvenience caused and assured customers that teams are working to complete the exercise within the stipulated timeframe.

Consumers reliant on electricity for critical operations, such as water pumping or medical equipment, are urged to make alternative arrangements where possible.

Kenya Power encourages affected customers to contact its customer care channels for any urgent concerns during the outage.

Once maintenance is complete at 5pm, power restoration will begin progressively across the listed areas.
