President fetes Biashara DT Sacco chairman for his exemplary service

• The award was issued to Mr Joseph Njamuku by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who represented the head of state.

President William Ruto has feted Biashara DT Sacco Limited chairman Joseph Njamuku for his 30-year long service at the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK).

Mr Njamuku received the coveted 'Long Service Award' from Dr Ruto who is the patron of ASK.

The award was issued to Mr Njamuku by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who represented Dr Ruto during the official opening of Central Kenya national agricultural show at Kabiru-ini showground in Nyeri town.

"I am humbled to have received this prestigious award from the President of Kenya, who is also the patron of ASK. It is through consistency and commitment that I have received this award from our President," Mr Njamuku told AVDelta News.

Biashara DT Sacco Limited was also awarded for emerging the best financial institution among exhibitors who had showcased their products during the show that started on September 11 and ended on September 14, 2024.

"We are grateful for being recognized as the best financial institution during the 2024 edition. We are committed to providing the best services to our customers by coming up with more products that are also innovation-driven," said the Sacco's marketing manager George Kiugu.

Recently, the institution opened its headquarters in Nyeri town, marking exactly 14 months since its ground-breaking ceremony took place.

During the inauguration ceremony, Mr Njamuku said that since its inception in 2006, they have established 14 branches and four satellite offices.

The Sacco, he said, has contributed to job creation, with the number of staff members growing from 12 in 2006 to 290 today.

The Sacco's asset base has expanded from Sh31.5 million in 2006 to Sh3.49 billion today, while the loan book has grown from Sh28.5 million to Sh2.9 billion.
