Police are investigating the circumstances under which a man fell to his death from an upper floor of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, as key questions persist over his identity, movements and the exact point of fall.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from within the building and questioning security personnel and witnesses to reconstruct the man’s final moments before the incident on Tuesday morning.

Central Police Commander Stephene Nyakombo confirmed that investigations are ongoing, noting that critical details have yet to be established.

The incident occurred at around 11 a.m., when the man fell and landed near the ground-floor entrance of the building, prompting an immediate response from security teams and members of the public.

Police said the man is believed to be in his 20s, though his identity had not been confirmed by Tuesday afternoon.

His body was moved to a city mortuary pending identification and post-mortem examination.

Authorities have not yet established the exact floor from which he fell, even as initial witness accounts suggested he may have accessed the upper sections of the building.

However, investigators have cautioned that early statements remain unverified and are being cross-checked against CCTV footage.

The scene was briefly cordoned off as officers processed evidence, causing a temporary disruption at the busy conference  facility.

The incident has drawn public attention, with investigators now focusing on how the man accessed restricted areas and what may have happened in the minutes before the fall.

Police have urged the public to avoid speculation as forensic and digital evidence analysis continues.
