Two in custody over the murder of a bouncer in Machakos town

Police in Machakos town are investigating an incident where a bouncer was shot to death on Wednesday night at a local popular entertainment joint.

Area Criminal Investigations Officer Nzioka Singi confirmed that the bouncer was shot dead outside the club around 10pm.

Singi told journalists that the suspected killer and a woman companion were arrested and are currently in police custody as investigations into the incident got underway.

"We are holding the suspected killer and a woman who was with him at the time of the fatal shooting. We visited the scene immediately after the incident for preliminary investigations," said the officer.

Singi said the two will be arraigned before a Machakos court on Monday, December 29, 2025, to answer charges related to the offence.

The officer confirmed the vehicle belonging to the suspected killer has been detained at the Machakos police station compound.

It was not immediately clear as to what led to the unfortunate incident that left revellers in the club and the entire Machakos town residents in shock.
