The grassroots meeting comes as opposition leaders announced a series of public rallies under the United Alternative Government banner.
United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders held a grassroots sensitisation forum in West Mugirango, Nyamira County, as political activity intensifies ahead of a series of public gatherings by the United Alternative Government coalition.
Party members from Bonyamatuta Ward converged at Kebirigo Boys High School on Friday for training aimed at sharpening party structures ahead of repeat grassroots elections.
West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka urged members to remain united and disciplined as they prepare for the repeat exercises.
“We are sharpening our structures to ensure the people’s voice is heard loud and clear at every polling centre,” he said, thanking trainers Emma Jemuge and Lameck Ndege for equipping the team.
The grassroots meeting comes as opposition leaders announced a series of public rallies under the United Alternative Government banner.
The rallies are scheduled to begin from Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Nairobi before moving to Kisii and Nyamira counties.
The gatherings are planned for Monday, February 23; Tuesday, February 24; and Wednesday, February 25, 2026, as part of efforts to engage citizens on governance and constitutional rights.
The coalition said the public meetings are lawful assemblies under Article 37 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to peaceful assembly and petition.
Opposition principals have framed the events as platforms to highlight issues of accountability, constitutional freedoms and justice.
