Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti has appealed to the public to help her nab individuals stealing drugs from public hospitals.

Governor Ndeti said her government continued to face the challenge of theft of drugs from the hospitals even after replenishing the supplies.

Speaking at Kisukioni Market in Matungulu Sub-County on Tuesday during a public participation forum, Ms Ndeti urged the people to be vigilant and report anyone stealing drugs from hospitals for sale at private chemists.

"We have a problem of people stealing drugs from hospitals. We ask the people to be vigilant and give us information on those stealing drugs," she said.

Last week at least six people were caught with drugs from a hospital in Masinga Sub-County. Among those who were arrested were four hospital staff members.

The county boss revealed that there was a challenge of funding from the national government but assured that revenue collected will be properly-utilised for the benefit of the people.
