Parents at Koma Ranch Primary School in Matungulu Sub-County, are concerned about the composition of the school which has female teachers only and have called on the Ministry of Education to post male teachers to the school for the sake of the boy-child.
The mixed primary school in the Sub-County has 1,230 pupils and 35 female teachers.
On Friday, parents led by Mr Peter Mutuku, also a parent at the school, said there was need to have male teachers posted to the school so as to serve as role models to the boys in the school.
He said smooth learning was likely to be disrupted should a number of the teachers go for maternity leave at the same time.
"We are asking the Ministry of Education to post male teachers to this school which has all-female teachers. Our boys need to have male teachers as their role models," said Mr Mutuku.
Addressing parents during a school function recently ,the School Headteacher Augustine Mawathe confirmed that there were 35 female teachers in the school, adding that she had been recently posted to the school.
She said the Ministry had promised to sent male teachers to the school.
