Transport along Magadi Road in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, was disrupted on Tuesday morning after Multimedia University students held demonstrations over poor living conditions.

The students expressed frustration with the university administration for allegedly failing to address their demands for a steady water supply in their hostels.

"We lack water in our hostels for some days and the school administration is doing nothing about it," one student was heard saying from the crowd.

They claimed they had been without clean water for several days, causing significant inconvenience.

Despite issuing a strike notice the previous Tuesday, the students said their attempts to engage with the administration had been ignored.

In addition to the water shortage, the students complained about unreliable internet access, which they said was affecting their studies.

During the protests, the students blocked the busy highway, forcing motorists to find alternative routes.

One of the student leaders, speaking to the media, stated that the demonstrations would continue until the university resolved their grievances.
