The Mrima Hill Circus currently unfolding shows exactly why Africa is poor despite having immense resources.
Mrima Hill is one of the largest mineral deposits in the world, worth over 8 trillion.
The current political posturing and discourse around it only shows the world how unprepared our leaders are and the total lack of vision and direction.
As the adage goes, "๐ ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐ฅ๐ฐ ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต ๐จ๐ฆ๐ต ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ด๐ฆ๐ณ๐ท๐ฆ, ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ต ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฐ๐ต๐ช๐ข๐ต๐ฆ."
Repeatedly, Kwale leaders have failed their people when it comes to harnessing Kwale's resources for economic empowerment of the people.
Instead of making political noises in village barazas, leaders should style up and start properly planning for the Mrima Resource Conversation that is imminent as well as for other resources in Kwale County and take an informed position that is beneficial to Kwale and its people.

As for Kwale people, if you are wondering why you are so poor despite the county being endowed with immense resources, look no further than your past and current leaders.
They have sleep-walked in the jungle nation called Kenya without a plan or ambition.
It has been easier for them to attend funerals and organise directionless Super Cups.
