Cheptiret residents to benefit from new laboratory services

Residents of Cheptiret in Cheptiret/Kipchamo Ward, Kesses sub-County are set to benefit from timely health care transformation as the County Government of Uasin Gishu, under the leadership of Governor Jonathan Bii, delivered the state-of-the-art laboratory equipment designed to enhance medical services.
Speaking during the handover of the equipment, Clinical Services Chief Officer Joyce Sang emphasized the significance of the initiative, saying that this is a pivotal moment for the community to benefit from the long-awaited services.
"Governor Bii's second pillar on the Nguzo Kumi blueprint Health focuses on enhancing diagnostics at level two and three healthcare facilities by ensuring better access to vital services for our residents," said Dr Sang.
The newly equipped laboratory is expected to provide a wide range of essential diagnostic services, addressing critical healthcare needs and improving patient outcomes therefore elevating the quality of care in Cheptiret and also decongesting high-volume facilities within the county.
"By equipping local facilities, we can reduce the burden on larger hospitals, enabling faster diagnosis and treatment for our patients," she added.
Area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Gilbert Sato on his part, thanked the County Government for the initiative pledging to support such initiatives during the budgeting process.
Among the equipment handed over are a centrifuge, glucometer, microscope, stethoscope, curtain rods, curtains, waiting benches, office tables and chairs, file cabinet, blood pressure machine, examination couch, and adult weighing scale, among others.
