A senior Kisii County executive has resigned, dealing County Governor Simba Arati a major blow.
Dr Alfred Ndemo, who resigned on Monday, was the County Executive Committee Member for Administration.
He cited “untenable working environment” as he checked out.
Dr Ndemo was at one time a victim of a botched impeachment by the County Assembly.
On Monday he spoke of mismanagement and frosty relationship with his boss Governor Arati forcing him out.
"Working with you has proved frustrating, demeaning, humiliating, untenable and impossible," Dr Ndemo stated in the resignation letter.
"You have deliberately refused to address my grievances despite my efforts in reaching out to you," he stated.
Dr Ndemo alleged that Mr Arati is running the devolved unit like a personal fiefdom.
"To exonerate myself from your maladministration, I have on November 4, 2024, resigned as a County Executive Committee Member (CECM) immediately.
