Detectives in Embakasi are investigating a murder reported in Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums in Nairobi on Tuesday.

This comes after an unidentified man died from injuries sustained in a suspected stabbing.

According to a report from Villa Police Station, nurses at Mukuru Kwa Njenga Level 4 Hospital received the victim at around 1am.

Good Samaritans brought the man, saying they had found him bleeding profusely on the field at Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary School.

Medical staff examined the victim and discovered a stab wound on the left side of his body, just above the collarbone.

Despite efforts to save his life, the man succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Officers from Villa and Embakasi police stations responded to the incident and visited the hospital where the body was found.

A thorough examination confirmed the presence of a single stab wound.

The scene at the Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary School field was processed by a Scenes of Crime (SOC) team and the victim's body was later taken to the City Mortuary for identification and autopsy.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Embakasi has taken over the case, which is still under investigation.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the victim or apprehend those responsible for the heinous crime.
