A jilted woman who allegedly roughed up and stripped her baby daddy’s other girlfriend naked is facing charges of insulting the victim’s modesty and indecently assaulting her.

Ms Susan Muthoni is charged alongside her friend Ms Hellen Bukucha where they are accused of insulting modesty of TK by forcibly stripping her contrary to section 251 of security laws Amendments Act of 2014.

They are accused of undressing TK of all the clothes at Muthoni’s baby daddy’s house in Drive in estate, Ruaraka in Nairobi on September 1, 2024.

They allegedly dragged TK out of the house while stark naked and being filmed during the incident.

The victim was then frogmarched downstairs and out in the streets while being physically assaulted, forcing her to flee into nearby business premises to take cover where members of the public helped her with clothes to cover herself up.

Muthoni and Bukucha were stopped by members of the public from pursuing the victim into an eatery where she had dashed in to hide.

The two suspects aged 21 and 20 years respectively, are also separately charged with committing an indecent act with an adult in contravention of section 11 (a) of the Sexual Offences Act (SOA) 2006.

Each suspect is separately accused of intentionally touching TK’s private parts without her consent during the ordeal.

Muthoni and Bukucha were also jointly charged with assaulting and causing bodily injuries to TK in contravention of section 251 of the Penal Code where they are accused of beating up and inflicting physical injuries on TK during the incident.

TK had received a call from the man at the centre of the dispute to go collect her clothes from his house when she met the two suspects and two other women inside the house before the commotion started.

The two denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Mary Njagi of the Makadara Law Courts and sought for lenient bail and bond terms through lawyer Linnet Rono.

Ms Rono told the court that Muthoni had left her children unattended and were being taken care of by a neighbour.

Ms Njagi released the two on a surety bond of Sh300,000 without an option of a cash bail.

The case will be mentioned on September 26, 2024, when the court will receive a probation officer’s report to determine if the suspects are eligible for a cash bail.
