Kangundo residents want KWS to relocate mischievous monkeys

Residents of Ituusya village in Kangundo sub-County have appealed to the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) to save them from the menace of monkeys which have invaded their farms in the recent past.
On Thursday, the residents said the monkeys are eating everything in the farms including maize, cassava, fruits, tomatoes, and bananas and this will lead to hunger in the area if the monkeys were not relocated.
The residents said the creatures are also a threat to small children and they want KWS to relocate the monkeys.
"We don't know where the monkeys have come from. They have invaded Ituusya village and are eating and destroying our crops," they said in a statement read by their leader Mr Jackson Muinde.
He appealed to KWS to catch the monkeys and relocate them to forests away from human habitation.
Area Kenya Wildlife Service Warden could not be reached for comment.
