MUNICH, Germany

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) delivered a masterclass in football, securing their first-ever UEFA Champions League title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena on May 31, 2025.

The Goal Fest Unfolds:

12' – Achraf Hakimi: The former Inter defender opened the scoring, finishing a slick move initiated by Vitinha and Désiré Doué.

20' – Désiré Doué: The 19-year-old doubled the lead, his shot deflecting off Federico Dimarco to leave Yann Sommer helpless.

63' – Doué Again: Doué showcased his prowess, slotting home after a clever back-heel from Ousmane Dembélé.

73' – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: The Georgian winger added a fourth, calmly finishing a one-on-one opportunity.

87' – Senny Mayulu: The 18-year-old substitute capped the rout, scoring just minutes after coming on.

In the aftermath, Arsenal supporters found solace in their earlier performances against PSG.  Having defeated PSG 2-0 in the group stage and narrowly losing 1-0 in the semi-finals, Arsenal fans took to social media to highlight their team's relative success:  *

While football isn't decided by transitive victories, the Gunners' performances against PSG were commendable.  In the group stage, Arsenal secured a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, with goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka.

In the semi-finals, they held PSG to a tight contest, ultimately falling 1-0.

PSG's emphatic victory cements their place atop European football.  For Arsenal, their strong showings against the new champions provide a foundation of optimism.  As the football world celebrates PSG's triumph, Arsenal fans can take pride in their team's progress and look forward to future campaigns with renewed hope.
