An autopsy on the body of murdered taxi driver Victoria Mumbua Muloki has revealed that she was beaten repeatedly with a blunt object before being strangled to death.

State pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor, who conducted the post-mortem, also revealed that the mother of three(3) did not go down without a fight.

Dr Oduor said there were physical injuries on her body, suggesting that her killer had acted deliberately.

He added that further tests were being carried out on more samples, which are crucial for investigators to piece together the crime.

They want to know if the deceased was poisoned or sexually assaulted.

While Muloki's family awaits full results, a dedicated team of homicide detectives is meticulously investigating her murder.

Detectives plan to revisit all the crime scenes to gather CCTV footage and forensically link the suspect to the locations.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder.

The suspect, Mr Edwin Ng'etich, has led detectives to various locations including Mt Elgon, Butere, Uasin Gishu, and Nakuru where police have recovered five(5) motor vehicles.

Mr Ng'etich is believed to have abducted the owners of these vehicles before stealing them.

In July 2014, he allegedly abducted and killed taxi driver George Njuguna.

Mr Ng'etich also faces two(2) counts of murder and two(2) counts of robbery with violence against taxi drivers.

Police suspect that after abducting his victims, Mr Ng'etich would use their vehicles to transport drugs or refugees as part of a human trafficking syndicate.

In his confession, Mr N'getich told police that on September 27, 2024, while in Mombasa, he hailed a taxi from Victoria.

Halfway through the journey, he attacked her, assaulting her several times and tying her to the back seat of the car.

He then took control of the car and drove towards Nairobi. As they drove through Kibwezi, the woman begged to be released. He stopped the car, strangled her and drove on with her body.

Mr Ng'etich eventually drove to Mai Mahiu and dumped her body in a thicket near Lari, Kiambu County.

After disposing of the victim's body, he drove her car to Nakuru where he was arrested and detained.

Police are currently investigating his confession to put the pieces of the crime together.
