Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has condemned what he terms a scheme to remove Chief Justice Martha Koome from office.

The impeached DP claimed that the State is after CJ Koome for her firmness against impunity.

Speaking on Sunday during a church service at PCEA Imenti North in Meru County, the former DP asked the government to stop any attempt to remove CJ Koome from office, citing that it is a scheme to silence dissenting voices.

"There's even a bigger scheme to disband the Supreme Court. I'm aware of a budget set aside via the National Intelligence Service (NIS). These machinations are from the State. We want to ask the international community to intervene. All other government agencies have been captured… the National Assembly and the Senate and now they are turning to the Judiciary. The MPs have been coerced to blindly support the failing government," Mr Gachagua said.

The former Mathira MP said that the plan was to first remove him from office as the DP, then remove the Chief Justice and later dismantle the Judiciary “in the preparations to rig the General Election.”

Mr Gachagua asked CJ Koome not to be intimidated, but stay put.

He asked the International Community to put an eye on Kenya and record all the happenings.

"The Executive has already captured the Legislature and it is on its way to capture the Judiciary. We stand with CJ Koome and coercing and intimidating her by withdrawing her security so that she can resign won't be tolerated. Stay put, you are doing a great job," he said.

He was accompanied by several leaders including Kiambu Senator Karungu Wa Thang'wa and a host of MPs.

On the unity of the Mountain, Mr Gachagua asked the residents of the Mount Kenya to remain united alleging that President William Ruto attempted to divide the region. But the president is on record saying that his main goal is to unite Kenyans from all walks of life.

"Everyone in this Country knows what is going on only that many are silent actors. We are aware of the plans orchestrated by those opposed to the unity of Mount Kenya region. They have been dividing the region for their own interests. Their aim was to cause chaos and disunity between Kikuyu, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Meru people, thinking they would win, but it was in vain. Once we agree to be divided, we are finished as a region. We must continue talking with one voice. With a disunited region, be assured of danger that awaits us at the end," Mr Gachagua said.

He noted that he has been listening to the ground and soon he will give direction and unveil his party.

Mr Gachagua's wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi was the preacher during the service where she urged women to be submissive and support the vision and dreams of their spouses.
