A tragic incident unfolded at View Park Towers, Nairobi, when a woman jumped from the 19th floor of the building, leading to her death.
The detectives said Charity Muthoni Mutoi had visited the building on Wednesday evening and took tea with a friend before she excused herself.
Upon visiting the scene, police established that the deceased had visited her male friend who does printing business on the ground floor of the same building.
Authorities were alerted shortly after the incident, and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene. However, despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the site.
Guards who rushed to the scene found she had left her shoes, jacket, and mobile phone on the 19th floor before she jumped off.
She landed on a tent erected on the ground floor of the building, where she died of her injuries.
The body was badly injured and it cracked into pieces after landing on the Uhuru Park side.
According to witnesses, the two(2)--the victim and the man--were seen together taking tea, but she excused herself and in a short while, the friend received a message from her that she had decided to commit suicide.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the jump.
Police documented the scene and the body, which was in pieces, was taken to the city mortuary, while a motive is yet to be established.
