A woman was arrested over the weekend after allegedly killing her husband in a suspected domestic dispute in Kasarani, Nairobi.

A caretaker of the building on Saturday reported that he found the victim’s body in his house after the incident.

According to a police report filed at Kasarani Police Station, the couple had quarrelled and fought before the woman picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the man in the chest killing him instantly.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the woman who claimed that she was defending herself.

Police at the scene recovered the weapon.

The body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and police launched investigations.

In April, police in Kasarani launched an investigation of the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man during a dispute over a woman.

The altercation occurred in the Wonderland area and reportedly involved individuals who had been socializing at a local bar before the incident unfolded.

According to authorities, two men and a woman, identified as acquaintances, had been drinking at a bar and were on their way home when they encountered another man, identified only as Fredrick.

The woman is believed to have been romantically involved with the deceased.

Police reported that an argument ensued when the deceased questioned the woman’s association with the other men, leading to a confrontation.

During the altercation, one of the men accompanying the woman allegedly produced a penknife from his jacket and fatally stabbed Fredrick in the neck before fleeing the scene with the woman.

Witnesses informed police that the victim attempted to pursue the assailant but collapsed a short distance away, succumbing to his injuries.

Authorities were alerted to the incident and subsequently transported the victim’s body to the mortuary pending further investigation and autopsy.
