A 28-year-old woman has surrendered to police after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death during an argument in Mur-Ngiya sub-location, Siaya County.

Police said the incident happened on Saturday night when the woman attacked and stabbed her 35-year-old boyfriend Charlton Obare over alleged infidelity.

Police said the deceased before he met his death, had arrived home with his other girlfriend around 9pm before the girlfriend immediately followed them.

The girlfriend, who had accompanied the deceased, left but heard a commotion.

On returning to investigate the cause of the commotion, the friend saw the woman leaving in a hurry, with the deceased in pain and bleeding.

He had been stabbed in the chest and collapsed a few metres away.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

The woman, a mother of one, later surrendered at Siaya police station.

Police said they had not established a motive for the incident but had heard reports that the woman had accused the man of infidelity.

Police said they would take her to court on a miscellaneous application to remand her in custody pending further investigations into the incident.

A team visited the scene and recovered evidence, including the killer's weapon, police said.

The body was taken to a local mortuary for autopsy and other procedures.
