With a lucrative prize pool and continental qualification at stake, every remaining team has everything to play for as the knockout stages intensify.
The race for the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup is gathering momentum as teams battle not only for domestic glory, but also for the coveted opportunity to represent Kenya in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This year’s competition has attracted heightened interest after organisers introduced an improved prize structure on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, making the knockout tournament even more lucrative for clubs across the country. The champions will walk away with Sh3 million and ticket to represent the country in CAF Confederation Cup, while the runners-up will pocket Sh2 million. The third-placed team will earn Sh1.5 million, with the fourth-place finishers receiving Sh1 million.
Beyond team rewards, the tournament has also made history by introducing cash prizes for individual excellence. The Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder and Top Scorer will each receive Sh150,000, while the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will earn Sh200,000. The Most Promising Young Talent will take home Sh100,000, further raising the stakes for players eager to shine on the national stage.
With the competition now entering the next phase, several clubs have already secured their places in the Round of 16, keeping their dreams of silverware alive.
Defending champions Nairobi United remain firmly in the hunt as they seek to retain the title they won last season after defeating Gor Mahia in the final. The Nairobi-based side famously known as Naibois, knows that a successful defence would not only secure the top prize, but also guarantee another ticket to continental football.
They will be joined in the next round by Kenya Police FC, KCB FC, Tusker FC, Bandari FC, Shabana FC, and Ulinzi Stars, all of whom progressed after convincing victories in the earlier rounds of the competition.
One of the biggest talking points of this year’s tournament has been the remarkable run by little-known BB Bread, the Nairobi Regional League side that stunned Kenyan football giants AFC Leopards in the round of 64 and Gor Mahia in the just-ended round of 32 to book their place among the last 16.
The giant-killing results have turned the underdogs into one of the most intriguing teams left in the competition.

From seasoned Premier League sides to fearless underdogs, the battle for the Mozzart Bet Cup promises more drama, surprises and unforgettable moments as clubs edge closer to the ultimate prize.
