Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Mr Kalonzo Musyoka has formally accepted his appointment as Party Leader of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition.
He described the role as a responsibility to advance justice, inclusivity and national renewal.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Musyoka thanked Azimio chairperson President Uhuru Kenyatta, the coalition leadership and constituent parties for what he termed their trust.
He also congratulated colleagues appointed to other leadership positions within the coalition.
They are Suba South MP Caroli Omondi as Secretary General and former Nairobi City Clerk Philip Kisia as Executive Director.
“I graciously accept my appointment as Party Leader of Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition,” Mr Musyoka said.
“This is bigger than any individual; it is about Kenya.”
He said Azimio remains the political home for millions of Kenyans who believe in fairness, inclusion and accountable leadership.
Mr Musyoka added that the coalition is open to other like-minded parties and individuals, describing Azimio as a “government in waiting.”
“Azimio continues to represent the hopes of millions who believe in justice, inclusivity and a Kenya that works for everyone,” he said.
Mr Musyoka urged Kenyans not to lose hope amid economic and political challenges, saying the coalition would offer principled leadership focused on rebuilding the country.
“Together, we will offer leadership anchored on national renewal,” he said, ending his statement with the slogan, “Komboa Kenya. Inawezekana!”
