Kenya Airways has temporarily suspended all flights to Dubai and Sharjah following the closure of UAE airspace, the airline confirmed on Saturday.

Affected flights include KQ310, KQ305, and scheduled freighter services. The airline cited passenger and crew safety as the reason for the cancellations.

“Due to developments in the Middle East, we have suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah until further notice,” Kenya Airways said in a statement.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and are working to assist all affected customers.”

Passengers are advised to check the airline’s website, mobile app, or contact the Customer Excellence Team at +254 711 024 747 or WhatsApp +254 705 474 747 for updates and rebooking options.

The suspension comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East, which have already prompted other carriers to adjust flight paths and schedules. Airlines such as Emirates and Etihad have rerouted flights or temporarily grounded certain services, raising concerns over delays and disruptions for international travellers.

Kenya Airways said it will provide further updates as the situation develops and urged travellers to monitor official channels for the latest information.

This disruption highlights the wider impact of regional airspace closures on African carriers and international travel, particularly in East Africa, where Dubai is a major transit hub.
