KPA CEO William Ruto, family out of hospital after tragic accident
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Capt. William Ruto and his family have been discharged from hospital following a road accident that tragically claimed the life of his daughter, Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi.
The family is now recovering at home after days under medical care, with doctors confirming they are in stable condition.
The accident, which shocked many across the country, left Capt. Ruto, his children and a niece with soft tissue injuries.
Attention has now turned to funeral arrangements for Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi, with preparations already underway.
The family is expected to release details of the burial in the coming days, even as they ask for privacy while mourning their loss.
Leaders, colleagues and members of the public continue to send messages of support, standing with the family during this difficult period of grief and recovery.
Earlier, while on a working tour in Mombasa on Saturday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited Capt. Ruto in hospital, confirming the circumstances of the crash and offering his condolences.
He said doctors had assured him that the family would recover well — a development that has now been realised with their discharge.
