Leaders condole with Aisha Jumwa following the death of her mother

Ms Jumwa described her mother as the pillar and heart of the family, whose love, wisdom and kindness touched many.

Political leaders across the Coast and the national government have expressed condolences to former Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa Katana following the death of her mother, Mama Sidi Karisa, who passed away after a brief illness.

Announcing the loss, Ms Jumwa described her mother as the pillar and heart of the family, whose love, wisdom and kindness touched many.

Among the first to convey condolences was Youth, Creative Affairs and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya, who wrote:
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.”

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir described the death as a profound loss to the family.

“I convey my profound condolences to Hon. Aisha Jumwa and her family following the passing of her beloved matriarch, Mama Sidi Karisa,” Mr Nassir said.

“May Allah grant the family, relatives, and all those affected patience and strength during this moment of deep sorrow.”

Kilifi County Speaker Catherine Kenga said the loss of a mother was deeply painful.

“Heartfelt condolences to Hon. Aisha Jumwa Katana following the loss of her beloved mother,” she said.
“May the Almighty Lord grant you and your entire family strength and comfort during this difficult time of mourning.”

Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi also extended her sympathies.

“I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Kenya Roads Board Chairperson Hon. Aisha Jumwa on the passing of her beloved mother,” she said.
“May her soul rest in perfect peace.”

Kilifi Senator Justice Stewart Madzayo described mothers as the foundation of families.

“Losing a parent is an immeasurable sorrow,” he said.
“The people of Kilifi and the entire Senate Minority stand with you in solidarity, offering our prayers and support during this period of mourning.”

Kaloleni MP Paul Katana said the loss was one of life’s deepest sorrows.

“On behalf of the people of Kaloleni Constituency, I extend my deepest condolences to Hon. Aisha Jumwa and her entire family,” he said.

Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho praised Mama Sidi Karisa as a woman of strength and grace.

“Mama Sidi was a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, wisdom and selflessness will continue to live on,” Mr Joho said.
“May the Almighty God grant the family comfort, strength and peace.”

Ms Jumwa is a former Cabinet Secretary and ex-Malindi MP.

She currently serves as Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board.

The family said burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
