Mr Mambo is alleged to have published on social media information that was likely to cause panic.
A man has been charged with publication of false information about Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
Mr Felix Mambo appeared on Monday before Mavoko Chief Magistrate Barbara Ojoo.
He denied the charge.
Mr Mambo is alleged to have published on social media information that was likely to cause panic, chaos or violence among citizens, contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act 2018.
In court papers, the prosecution quoted Mr Mambo that on diverse dates at unknown places he published: “Only Wavinya and her son can substantiate bro. Mimi na wewe tuko Kathangaita wao wanakula raha UK.”
He was released on a Sh200,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh300,000 with a surety of a similar amount.
Governor Ndeti has been listed as the complainant while witnesses in the case include her son Charles Oduwole and Machakos County Secretary Muya Ndambuki plus two police officers.
The case will be mentioned on November 18, 2024.
