MPs from Ukambani say Raila will be fondly remembered for defending devolution

Several Members of Parliament from the Eastern Region--Ukambani--have mourned former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, whom they said was a patriot and a champion of devolution.
Speaking in Kangundo town on Wednesday at the launch of the Kangundo-Mwala Road, MPs Fabian Kyule (Kangundo) Rachael Nyamai (Kitui South), Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Charles Nguna (Mwingi West) and Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga) sent their condolences to the family of the late PM who is credited for the second liberation of the country.
"We send our condolences to the family of Raila Amolo Odinga. Raila will be remembered as patriotic and a champion of devolution,"said Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna.
Kangundo MP Fabian Kyule said Raila will go down in history as a man who fought for democracy in Kenya and his contributions to the country's politics and making our country a better place will be felt for generations to come.
"Raila will go down in history as a man who fought for this country. I have read about him in history books and I think we will never see another one like him,"said Mr Kyule.
Mr Kyule said history was also being made in Kangundo as the tarmacking of the Kangundo-Mwala road had begun.
Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka said "his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate us all."
"On behalf of my family, I offer my deepest condolences to the family and relatives during this difficult time," the MP added.
Kitui South MP Rachael Nyamai said it is a big loss to Kenyans of all walks, adding that her heart was pained by the loss.
"I sent my condolences to the family of Raila Odinga and Kenyans in general. My prayers and thoughts are with them during this time of mourning," Ms Nyamai said.
Masinga MP Joshua Mwalyo said the late PM was a wonderful figure, a role model to many, kind and elegant man who cared deeply about his family and his country.
