Detectives in Kisii are holding an nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) over vandalism at Kisii Woman Representative Doris Donya Toto's office on Tuesday.
Mr George Morara, who is the lawyer acting for her, said Ms Gaudencia Omariba was summoned by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Tuesday night.
She was expected to be arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon.
"We actually don't know the exact reason of the summon, but we suspect it is in connection with the demolitions of a fence and the general vandalism at the Woman Rep's office," stated Mr Morara.
Ms Omariba first made an appearance before the County Commissioner before she was referred to the DCI offices.
Journalists and members of the public were locked out.
There were momentary scuffles between the officers guarding the gates and the Ward Reps who turned up in solidarity with Ms Omariba.
On Tuesday, goons--in dozens--overwhelmed the security personnel guarding Ms Donya Toto's offices at Daraja Moja, vandalizing a temporary fence and destroying glasses covering the building.
The Woman Rep was not in at the office, but staff members who were present said they were scared as youths, armed with crude weapons, ransacked the offices.
