The County Government of Uasin Gishu under the leadership of Governor Jonathan Bii has rolled out the distribution of essential medical equipment to Koitebes, Cheptiret ,and Kaptumo Dispensaries in Cheptiret/Kipchamo Ward, Kesses sub-County.

This initiative marks a pivotal step in Governor Bii's mission to strengthen healthcare services in the County as envisioned in his second pillar on the 'Nguzo Kumi' blueprint.

Speaking during the flagging off, County Executive in charge of Health Services Abraham Serem emphasized that this equipment distribution aligns seamlessly with the Governor's second pillar of the Nguzo Kumi blueprint, which focuses specifically on health care improvements.

"As envisioned in the second pillar, Governor Bii aims to ensure all facilities are equipped with the necessary tools to enhance diagnostics and service delivery," said Dr Serem.

Dr Serem further noted that the equipment are in an effort to ensure that health services are delivered correctly to the residents, therefore ensuring that they receive the best services ever.

He added that the health care service providers have been trained on Social Health Authority (SHA) and will roll out the exercise to the community level to ensure everyone registers. Adding that they have enough staff and have delivered enough drugs as required.

"Governor Bii has made sure that health services are dispensed off to the public seamlessly from delivery of drugs to equipment to ensuring that the infrastructure is upgraded," said Dr Serem.

Clinical Services Chief Officer Joyce Sang on her part noted that they are getting more equipment to ensure that all the Level 2 and Level 3 facilities enhance the best patient safety and reduce child mortality and maternal deaths at the facilities.

Director of Health Services Evans Kiprotich noted that their mandate is to ensure they offer quality services to the residents and the distribution of equipment is a drive in the implementation of primary health care.

Among the equipment distributed include Glucometer, centrifuge, microscope, head lamp, height board, sterilisation drums, emergency tray, chairs, baby weighing scale, stethoscope, and digital blood pressure machine.
