Suzuki by CFAO becomes Official KRU Transport Partner for HSBC SVNS2 Nairobi leg
Suzuki by CFAO has on Friday announced a Sh2 million sponsorship of the Kenya Rugby team, becoming the official transport partner for the upcoming HSBC SVNS2 rugby sevens tournament set for this weekend at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
HSBC SVNS2 will involve 12 countries. Men teams are Kenya, USA, Canada, Uruguay, Belgium, and Germany. The ladies competition will bring together Kenya, China, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, and South Africa.
The sponsorship aims to advance rugby in Kenya by empowering local talent, strengthening the national team, and supporting the sport’s overall development to ensure the Kenya Rugby team continues to compete strongly on the global stage.
As part of the partnership, members of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Executive Committee will receive mobility solutions, including the Suzuki Jimny, Suzuki Fronx, and Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The vehicles are intended to support both the team and administrators, enabling them to focus on performance and operational excellence on and off the field.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, Suzuki Brand Manager Juliana Wakwoo said the partnership reflects shared values between the brand and the national team.
“Kenya’s rugby journey is defined by energy, resilience, and triumph against all odds. These qualities mirror who we are as a brand. Just like the players, our vehicles are built to go beyond limits, offering power, reliability, and efficiency. We are proud to support the national team as they pursue success in the upcoming tournament,” said Okach.
Kenya Rugby Union Chairperson Harriet Okach welcomed the sponsorship, describing it as a valuable investment in the rugby fraternity. She noted that the collaboration would positively impact players and contribute to the growth of the sport in the country.
“We are honoured to have Suzuki as a partner whose commitment aligns with the resilience that defines both the Kenyan rugby team and the Suzuki brand. This collaboration reflects a shared belief in rugby’s power to inspire communities and elevate the local sporting scene,” she said.
Wakwoo added that the partnership underscores Suzuki’s continued commitment to supporting individuals and teams that push boundaries, in line with the brand’s philosophy of reliability, innovation, and forward momentum.
